Magnolia Pub and Brewery is located at the corner of Haight and Masonic, and is what is referred to (in the parlance of our times) as a "gastropub". What this means is that they serve both high quality food, and small boutique beers, with a "high end" atmosphere. The restaurant generally serves good, local, mostly organic fare. They also have a large number of beers on tap that are brewed in-house. In February they celebrate Strong Beer Month in association with 21st Amendment.
The restaurant was recently remodelled, and its famous Grateful Dead mural was painted over with a more generic marbled pattern.
The owners of Magnolia also own Alembic, which is further down Haight Street.
