Community Supported Agriculture or CSA programs are an awesome idea where you basically "subscribe" to a local farm or farms for a certain period of time. The farm(s) then sends you a box/basket/bag of food periodically. There are a number of CSAs available to those living in the city, making eating locally easy.

Each box comes with a handy newsletter with an update on the farm and recipes for stuff in the box that week. They offer fortnightly deliveries too, a useful thing for smaller households or people who don't cook in as often. They deliver to local drop-off points, and you pick up your box and sign in.
